The World Nautica (though currently a pet project) aims to be an animated show that is inspired by Saturday morning cartoons and intended for a young adult audience. Characters are often colourful and silly like vintage shows from this genre, and following the classic “hero stops the bad guy of the week” format there will be many different types of recurring villains that appear across several episodes. The World Nautica aims for writing that strikes a balance between whimsical and serious with some self-awareness about ideas the plot introduces. Characters struggle, evolve and change over the course of it, certain ideas recurr and despite the genre it’s inspired by The World Nautica aims to have a sense of progression with an overarching story even if it may not be obvious at a glance.
